The Connecticut Medical Training Academy

    Med-Ed Systems Inc., d.b.a The Connecticut Medical Training Academy, is Connecticut's answer to Emergency Medical Services higher education. With Instructors experienced in teaching and field medicine, the students receive the best of both worlds. Personal experiences and case reviews, bring to light reality to the case room. Med-Ed Systems Inc. has been around for over 15 years, educating Medical Professionals of this state. Now under new ownership and management, Med-Ed Systems Inc. is striving for the future.     Connecticut Medical Training Academy, Med-Ed Systems, Inc was founded in 1978. The company was originally developed to provide continuing education for Med Star, Inc. and some volunteer ambulance services. As public awareness to emergency pre-hospital care grew, the need for providers of programs such as CPR and First Aid became tremendous. With a limited number of facilities offering these programs, Med-Ed soon became the leader in public emergency pre-hospital education.

    The Connecticut Medical Training Academy joined forces with the University of Connecticut Health Center, School of Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine and the American Heart Association and the National Safety Council. In the beginning, courses were limited to CPR, Basic First Aid, Water Rescue, Babysitter Safety Awareness, Medical Response Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician. In March 1997, Med-Ed Systems, Inc. was purchased in full by the Connecticut Medical Training Academy. In a move toward continuing growth joined forces with many hospitals and Emergency Medical Providers in the area to help provide a wide spectrum of clinical practice and experience to our students. Now locally and nationally recognized as a provider of quality medical education, the Connecticut Medical Training Academy offers courses from CPR and Basic First Aid to Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic.

    At present, the Connecticut Medical Training Academy employs a distinguished staff of qualified instructors, including AHA-CPR instructors, Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Physicians. Each of our instructors attend instructor development courses and each has one major interest in common: Quality Education and Training. All of our programs are developed with physician input, and are continually reviewed by our physician staff, Medical Director, Program Coordinator and Clinical Coordinators. Our programs adhere to and exceed both state and national standards.

    The Connecticut Medical Training Academy is capable of providing education and training based on individual needs. We have established ourselves as a leader in pre-hospital medical education and will continue to set the trends and meet the needs of our students and our community.
