CONFINED SPACE
TRAINING THE TEAM OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146
Course Description:
This unique program, reviewed by OSHA for accuracy and regulation compliance,
stresses teamwork and covers the responsibilities of entrant, attendant, rescue
personnel and administrator. Training the team covers all aspects of working in
a permit-required confined space.
This program is approximately 16 hours broken down in to five modules:
Introduction to Confined Space, Entry Principles, Recognizing Atmospheric
Hazards, Types of Hazards and Rescue Operations. An eight-hour practical skill
evolution is also available which reinforces classroom learning.
Special Note:
Students must be physically fit and able to perform in tight confining spaces
while wearing self-contained breathing apparatus under the stressful conditions
involved with confined space rescue. Leather gloves and hard hats with chin
strap are required for the practical exercises and must be furnished by the
student.
This course material is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical
Technicians for re-certification hours.
Prerequisite:
It is recommended that participants have the following background: Meet the
respiratory standards in the use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, Rope I,
and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational. Prerequisite is mandated
for participants in the practical skills evolution. Proof required.

The cost includes student workbook.
