American Heart Association
The Connecticut Medical Training Academy offers several different programs
involving Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. All programs meet or exceed the
American Heart Association national standards.
The Heartsaver Adult program. This program covers
topics such as: Chain of survival, normal heart and lung function and anatomy,
Coronary Artery Disease factors for heart attack, prudent heart living, how to
recognize a heart attack and/or stroke, warning signs and symptoms. Foreign Body
Airway Obstruction and One-Rescuer CPR.
The Heartsaver Child / Infant program adds the resuscitation
of Children and Infants for Foreign Body Obstruction and Cardiopulmonary Arrest.
The Healthcare Provider is the professional rescuer
level covering all aspects of Adult/Child/Infant CPR (one and two person), Bag
valve mask resusitation and
Foreign Body Obstruction in addition to AED.
The Heartsaver AED is the Heartsaver Adult program with
the added component of AED (Automated External Defibrillartion).
All courses come complete with a student textbook.
All instructors of the Connecticut Medical Training Academy have years of field
experience in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Quality education that meets your
